Planned Opening of Dublin Boulevard and Central Parkway

The sections of Dublin Boulevard and Central Parkway between Lockhart Street and Fallon Road are expected to be open to the public by June of this year. Prior to opening the roadways, the traffic signals at Dublin Boulevard/Lockhart Street, Dublin Boulevard/Fallon Road, and Central Parkway/Fallon Road must be fully operational, inspected, tested and deemed safe for public travel. The signal contractor is currently working with PG&E to finalize all electrical service connections and will then have other minor work to prepare the signal systems for City inspection. Also, general roadway maintenance will be completed prior to the opening date; including street sweeping, vegetation clean up, and traffic striping refreshing.

St. Patrick’s Day Weekend

It was great to see everyone in the Dublin community out at the 27th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival!  The St. Patrick’s Day Festival was a huge success this year, due in large part to warm weather and enthusiastic crowds. Attendance for the March 13th & 14th Festival is estimated to be 60,000 which is one of the largest number of attendees in the
Festival’s history.  With over 150 booths/exhibits/vendors, delicious food & drinks, three stages of entertainment, sheepherding, carnival rides and the Irish Tea Cottage, the weekend truly was an authentic Irish celebration.  In addition to the Dublin Boy Scout Troop 905 who handled the trash and recycling for the event, 12 local non-profit groups provided over 650 hours to the Community Worker Program. The Firefighter’s Pancake Breakfast served over 700 guests and also
received $2,443 in cash donations which will in turn be used to assist local schools, community non-profit organizations and fund the annual toy drive.  Bill Burnham of the Dublin Lions Club shared that there were 80 parade entrees. In all,
the parade included 2,300 participants, 24 floats, 8 bands and 5 equestrian groups with an estimated audience attendance of 10,000 to 12,000.  The Annual Shamrock 5K Fun Run and Walk had a record 1,554 participants on Sun
