St. Patrick’s Day Festival - Irish Tea Cottage

For the third straight year, the Dublin Heritage Park and Museums is hosting a tea room at the heart of the
St. Patrick’s Day festivities on Saturday, March 12 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 13 from 10:00
a.m.-5:00 p.m., in the Community Room of the Dublin Library. The Irish Tea Cottage will allow visitors to
experience Irish culture and heritage in a comfortable, homey setting.

The Library Community Room is transformed each year into an Irish Tea Cottage complete with a cozy
hearth, farm tables and Irish music. Visitors are invited to relax with a cup of Irish Tea (served in a fancy china
cup and saucer) and a delicious scone. Visitors of all ages can get creative in the craft area where they can
create a mystical Irish wall-hanging. Legend has it that if you kiss the Blarney Stone you will receive ‘the
gift of gab.’ Test to see if the legend is true! A drop-in knitting marathon will take place by the hearth where
yarn, knitting needles and expert knitters will be on hand to help you get started on a knitting project. On
Saturday, at 1:00 pm, the Dublin Heritage Center’s own Irish Jam Band will perform a free concert inside the
Irish Tea Cottage. Admission and activities are free, $2 for a cup of tea and a scone.

St. Patrick’s Day Festival - 2011

Where else but Dublin…would anyone want to celebrate St Patrick’s Day?

This year’s authentic Irish experience begins with the Green & White Gala on Friday,
March 11th, sponsored by the Dublin Sister City Organization. The evening begins with
no-host cocktails at 6:00 p.m. and will be held at the Dublin Senior Center. Tickets are
available at $65 per person. You may call 829-4758 for reservations.

Saturday morning begins at 7:00 a.m. with the Annual Firefighter’s Pancake Breakfast at
Fire Station No. 16, 7494 Donohue Drive. Tickets can be purchased at the door for only
$5.00 for those delicious green pancakes.

The annual Dublin Lions Club Parade will step-off promptly at 9:30 a.m. with over 80 entries including
equestrian riders, clowns, local marching bands, bagpipes and more. Bleacher seats will be available on
Amador Valley Blvd near Oil Changers.

The St Patrick’s Day Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 12th & 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. at the Dublin Civic Center. There will be plenty to do with up to 200 craft, activity and commercial
vendor booths, an international food court, 3 stages of authentic Irish entertainment, and a “new” carnival
vendor with exciting rides and attractions. And don’t forget, of course, the Irish Tea Cottage! As always,
admission to the festival and parking are free.

Sunday morning will feature the annual Shamrock 5K Fun Run and Walk. This is a certified 3.5 mile course
with great prizes and pre and post-run activities located right at the festival! Register on-line at Active.com
or download an application from the event website.
