Citywide Diversion Rate Update
Posted on August 6th, 2009 by Tim Sbranti
With an increased focus on improving the City’s diversion programs over the last few years, Dublin has been able to steadily improve its diversion rate from 50% in 2004 to 66% in the most recent certification year of 2008. This is well above the state mandated goal of 50%, and the City is well on its way to its goal of 75% diversion. This increased focus on improving diversion of recyclable, compostable, and resuable materials from the landfill is saving money, conserving resources, and improving environmental quality within Dublin.
