Dublin Youth Fee Assistance Program

The City of Dublin’s Youth Fee Assistance Program provides eligible Dublin youth financial assistance to participate in City-sponsored recreation programs. The program allows youth to have quality recreational experiences that may not be possible without assistance.
Applications for fee assistance have been accepted since January 2010. As of July 2010, Staff has received 33 applications. The total amount of assistance awarded to date is $2,108. Youth Fee Assistance Program funds have been used for the following programs: Kinder Drama, After School Recreation, Jr. Warrior Basketball program, Fun in the Sun summer program, Tenderfoot preschool camp, sports camps, Green Gators Swim Team, Pre-Ballet class and Dublin Swim Center family pass.  The program relies solely on private donations to fund the scholarships. Currently there
is a balance of $7,490 in the account.

Key funding sources have included events such as the Annual Dublin Community Golf Tournament, Pee-Wee Walk-a-thon, and Youth Advisory Committee Volunteer Tutoring Program. “Founding Sponsor” donations have also been received from the Dublin Fine Arts Foundation, Dublin Historical Preservation Association, Dublin Host Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus.
The City of Dublin’s Mission is to: “Promote and support a high quality of life which ensures a safe and secure environment that fosters new opportunities.” The Youth Fee Assistance Program has truly provided many new opportunities for youth in Dublin that would not have been possible without assistance.
