Online Survey for Museum Assessment Program

The Dublin Heritage Center has been selected as one of 106 U.S. institutions to participate in the Museum Assessment Program (MAP). MAP is a self-improvement tool for museums through a process of self-study, peer review and innovation. In addition, the MAP is an important step toward museum accreditation.

In preparation for a peer review, the Heritage Center is conducting an online survey of almost 2,000 Dublin Residents through a “Vertical Response”. The survey asks questions on a variety of topics such as accessibility, favorite programs and visitor experiences in an attempt to learn more about how the public views and interacts with the Center. Nancy Bryk, Director of Education at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum has been selected as the Heritage Center surveyor. Nancy will be conducting a three day visit to the Heritage Center during the week of November 22nd. Following her visit, she will prepare a report utilizing a bevy of information and input from her visit and interaction with City Staff and stakeholders in the community, as well as the results of the Vertical Response survey.

The report will provide valuable insight and recommendations on ways to improve museum operations thereby empowering the Heritage Center to better fulfill its mission of public service.
