Preparations for Opening of Kolb Elementary
Efforts are underway to provide safe and efficient access to Kolb Elementary for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists alike. On-street improvements, including traffic control and parking regulations, will help facilitate orderly movement. Off-street improvements are also under construction. A 12-foot multi-use path will go in on the south side of Gleason Drive (between Lockhart Street and Fallon Road) and on the east side of Lockhart Street (between Gleason Drive and Central Parkway). The Sorrento East developer has committed to the City that the path will be complete prior to school commencing.
The Public Works Department and Police Services will be meeting with the Principal in early August to discuss drop-off and pick-up operations to ensure that all are prepared for the first day of school.
