Tri-Valley Mayors Meet with Sybase
On Thursday, July 8 I, along with the other Tri-Valley Mayors, were invited to attend a meeting at Sybase to learn more about the Tri-Valley business community’s effort to brand the region and to encourage innovation. The effort, called Innovation Tri-Valley, is intended to bring together business and government to grow the region’s jobs and collaboration.
The event was attended by all five mayors in the region and was hosted by Marty Beard, president of Sybase Mobile 365. Marty is passionate about the region and its opportunities. He is bringing together business leaders across the region to further enhance the region’s reputation for business innovation. Marty presented an overview of the work done to date and talked with the mayors regarding the ways in which government can support (non-financial) this private effort. An idea was raised to establish an advisory committee, comprised of the mayors, city managers and ED directors to serve as a sounding
board for the proposed efforts.
The next step for Innovation Tri-Valley is to host an event on July 22 at Casa Real from 10 am to 1:30 pm. Staff will be following up with you regarding your desire to attend and hear more about the findings of their work.
