Mayor Sbranti to deliver “State of the City” Address
MAYOR TO DELIVER STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS WEDNESDAY
Boxing Champion Andre Ward to Receive Key to the City
DUBLIN, Calif., - Dublin Mayor Tim Sbranti will be delivering the State of the City address on Wednesday, January 27th at 12:00 noon at the Shannon Community Center (11600 Shannon Avenue) in Dublin at an event sponsored by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Sbranti’s theme for his comments will focus on the “changing landscape in Dublin.” He will address the current economic conditions that have impacted Dublin in terms of its fiscal situation and development-related activities. While delivering the realities in today’s economy, Mayor Sbranti will also look towards the future and discuss a number of programs and activities that the City is pursuing to assist local businesses as well as attract new business. Additionally, the Mayor will update the community on the progress being made at Fallon Sports Park and the Historic Park.
Honoring a Boxing Champion
Just before beginning his remarks tomorrow, Mayor Sbranti will honor Dublin resident and World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Middleweight Champion Andre Ward with a key to the City. Ward holds an undefeated record of 21-0 with 13 KOs as a Professional Boxer and has won more than 90 matches as an amateur, including the Gold Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games. In addition to his achievements in the ring, the Mayor will recognize his continued commitment to working with and inspiring at-risk youth throughout the Bay Area.
