DPIE Continues to help Community

In the last couple of years, one of Dublin’s many success stories is the growth of Dublin Partners in Education (DPIE), this year’s Organization of the Year.  Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in the Honorary Advisory Board Annual meeting, where we were given a report of previous year’s activities and the action plan moving forward.

One of DPIE’s biggest accomplishments for the past year was its ability to disperse $50,000 in grants to support various efforts with the school district.  The organization also grew in terms of its membership and overall fundraising efforts, enhancing existing events such as the Celebrity Waiter Dinner and Art Auction while adding new events such as the Bowl-A-Rama..  Another noteworthy achievement was funding innovative ways to grow two-way partnerships that benefit the schools but also benefit the businesses and community groups that support them.

The strategic focus of DPIE in the next couple of years can be summarized by the acronym CARE, with focus on Career training and preparation, Arts, Resources for educators, and Educational interventions.  For more information and to get involved, please visit their website at www.dublin.k12.ca.us (click the tab for DPIE).
