Environmental Committee Forms
Vice Mayor Kasie Hildenbrand and I attended the first sub-committee meeting with City Staff for the newly formed “Green Initiatives” Task Force. The Task Force will be meeting early next year to analyze the City’s existing Environmental policies and programs as well as make recommendations to the City Council for future initiatives.
The first sub-committee meeting was just to define the scope of work for the Task Force. A lot of the staff support and work that has been done is from our City’s newly created Environmental Services Division. The new division, funded entirely through grant funds and Measure D (i.e. not the general fund), has been extremely busy since its inception in July synchronizing existing City programs, and doing extensive research to prepare for the Task Force.
Applications for the Task Force will be taken from residents and business members in January, and meetings are slated to begin in February. Anyone who is interested will be able to download an application from the City’s website (www.ci.dublin.ca.us), or pick one up in the City Manager’s office at the Dublin Civic Center.
