Rebuilding California from the Ground Up

The CCS (Cities-Counties-Schools) Partnership convened its summit examining the possibilities for “Rebuilding California — From the Ground Up” this weekend. During the summit, delegates examined a wide range of reform proposals, and arrived on four key principles:
- Protect local revenue sources
- Reform term limits
- Allow communities to approve taxes with less than the current two-thirds majority needed
- Require funding to be specified for state-wide ballot measures
I attended the two-day summit along with 500 other local elected officials from across the state. Joining me in attendance from Dublin included Councilmembers Kate Scholz and Don Biddle, City Manager Joni Pattillo, and DUSD Board Trustee John Ledahl.
